The former ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star stops by ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ to promote The CW’s ‘Katy Keene’ when a clip from her participation on the ‘American Idol’ spinoff is brought up.
Lucy Hale has reacted to her old performance when she became a contestant on a reality TV singing competition series “American Juniors”. The former “Pretty Little Liars” star reminisced her past as a singer wannabe during her appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Wednesday, February, 12.
During the interview, host Jimmy Kimmel played a clip from one of Hale’s performances when she sang “Call Me” by Debby Harry. Cringing at her own looks in the video, the 30-year-old actress couldn’t help remarking, “Look at that crimped hair, what a mess.” But Kimmel convinced her that she looked okay back then, saying, “You are perfectly cute there.”
Further recalling her time joining the singing competition series, the “Fantasy Island” star said, “This was 14 years ago, no, 16 years ago, I was 14 years old.” She continued talking about her “American Juniors” gig, which marked her first appearance on television, “I started in music. Ryan Seacrest was hosting it.” She noted though that the show didn’t go well because it was canceled after only one season.
